Boss spends 3 months trying to get employee fired, now can't stop calling him for help: 'The nerve of some people!'

This employee dealt with the experience of being underestimated and undervalued for the remaining months where he worked at his now former company while his boss was conspiring to get rid of him. All of this was because the employee disclosed to management after two warnings that there was a medical reason why certain menial tasks were difficult for him to complete. It had nothing to do with his professional skills or demeanor. Rather, there was medical proof why these few tasks and responsibilities did not make sense for him.

Most employers in this situation would be understanding, or at the very least, they would recognize that pushing back on medical issues is a recipe for a doomed lawsuit for the company. It would have been best to accept the employee's reality and find another person who could complete those tasks. As the author himself states, the core responsibilities of his position were still well within his abilities. At the end of the day, the output was more or less the same.

  • Well, it just goes to show that this boss wasted three months of time trying to get rid of someone he perceived as a waste of money when in fact, he was a valuable asset to the team. He would come to regret his course of actions just a week after getting rid of the author. Karma!
